Every Spirit Berry piece is handwoven with love on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the same way my grandma would have beaded them in the northwoods of Wisconsin on Lake Superior. As a tribal elder, she taught me that beading is sacred work. The Ojibwe word for bead literally means “tiny spirit berry.”

I carry this work forward from my homeland and water of the Great Lakes, to the land and water I now call home in the Caribbean—melding the beauty of this ancient tradition with the vibrant tropical light and color that surrounds me.

It is an honor to share this sacred work with others, creating unique designs that will hopefully be cherished into the future.
